Gallbladder removal
- Many patients suffer from pains or infections caused by gallstones in the gallbladder. Removal of the gallbladder results in prevention of further attacks of pain or infection.
- The removal of the gallbladder is carried out as a key hole (laparoscopic) procedure which means that in addition to getting rid of the pain, the recovery is quick – most patients stay in the hospital one night and many go home on the same day. Further to this, the pain is minimal and the risk of post surgical hernias is reduced.
- Gallbladder surgery has a low risk of complications.
